Meet Michigan Photographer
Kelsey

Hi, I’m Kelsey—

the heart behind Kelseycharmayne Photography.

Born and raised in Michigan, I’ve always found beauty in the everyday moments. Northern Michigan holds a special place in my soul—it’s where I first fell in love with golden light, quiet mornings, and the kind of memories that live on long after the season ends.

I’m a golden hour chaser, espresso lover, wife, sister, and animal mom. I believe photography is more than just “taking pictures”—it’s about slowing down enough to see your life while you're still living it.

I specialize in relaxed lifestyle photography for families and individuals who want more than just digital files. I help you create heirloom albums, framed artwork, and timeless visuals that become part of your home—and your story.

If you’ve ever said, “I don’t feel ready,” or “I’m awkward in front of the camera,”—you’re exactly who I love working with most. I’ll guide you through it all. You just show up as you are.

Let’s document your life—beautifully, honestly, and with intention.

Golden Hour Chaser

There’s something sacred about starting or ending the day with golden light.

Whether it’s watching the sun rise above the horizon or sink below it—those quiet moments always make me slow down and savor.

Maybe it’s from all the sunsets I grew up watching on Lake Michigan beaches.
Maybe it’s because my husband proposed at sunrise.

Either way, golden hour has a hold on me.

It’s never just about the light—
It’s about what it makes you feel.

Northern Michigan has my heart

There’s something about Northern Michigan—
the people are kinder, the views hit deeper, and every time I head up there, it’s like a weight lifts off my shoulders.

That love started early.

Growing up, my parents didn’t take us on trips out of the country. Instead, we packed up the car and headed “up north.” Every winter and summer, we spent a week with my aunt, uncle, and cousins at a cottage—jumping off water trampolines in the summer and snowboarding down the hills in the winter.

Throughout the year, we’d camp at state and private parks all across Michigan. No matter the season, Northern Michigan became our escape—and eventually, part of who I am.

It’s more than just a place.

It’s where I learned to slow down, savor the moment, and see beauty in the ordinary. And that’s what I bring into every session I photograph.

Espresso Lover

My love for coffee started in college—
after a professor once told us,

“Listening is savoring. And when you savor someone’s words, it gives them worth and value.”

That stuck with me.

Even though espresso has no words, savoring it—slowing down, choosing the right mug, taking a moment to breathe—became a small, sacred ritual. A reminder that presence matters. That the little things deserve our attention.

That same energy shows up in my photography.

It’s never just about the photo—
It’s about pausing long enough to see and feel what’s right in front of us.
